    Excellent article about an amazing woman. I think few of us in the West have a clue about the horror that Muslim women endure under brutal, oppressive religious regimes.

    One of the difficulties in dealing with “religious extremism” is that it’s so difficult to separate the extremists from the rest of the believers. That goes for any faith, not just Islam. It just happens that, in our age, Islam is so widespread and frequently flagrantly that it easily stands out from other faiths.

    Hirsi Ali said that jihadists are regarded as heroic figures even in the hearts of milder, less violent Muslims. How can non-Muslims distinguish between those Muslims who really are, as they describe themselves, people of peace, and those who secretly, and sometimes not-so-secretly, admire extremists? Conundrums like this drive me closer to the conclusion that the world really would be better off without religion.

    I hope you find my seperate e-mail thought provoking and of importance as to why this very wonderful, brave lady needs our support and help to keep safe. Nothing less will do. We have to keep highlighting her cause and the women she represents to find dignity, peace and human rights.
