Seriously Funny

I find myself continuing to laugh about and reflect on a comic strip cartoon that was first brought to my attention by Daniel Florien in which the creator, Neil Swaab, explains why god must prefer atheists to believers.

17 Holiday Lessons

I originally posted this over a year ago, but decided it was time to give it another whirl …
—–
These are the important lessons I learned on a recent holiday trip abroad:
1. However much time you allow yourself to get to the airport in good time, it will never be enough to account for the civil [...]

God suddenly appeared.
There I was, minding my own business, when it happened.  Out of the blue.  No warning.  Just came.  God, or rather almightygod, appeared on my screen about three days ago.  And she/he/it has appeared with great regularity ever since.  Just popping up out of nowhere, reminding me of important things, and revealing the [...]

I’ve had difficulties in deciding what to do.  Readers who have been following this heart-rending story (see My Dilemma) will know that it has been a harrowing time.  However, things came to a head over a week ago - July 11, the day before I went on holiday.

Huge Payout

I’m grateful to Freethinker for this posting which seemed too important to pass by:
THE Roman Catholic church in the United States paid out £306 million in 2007 to victims of sex abuse involving members of the clergy – an increase 54 percent over the previous year, and the largest sum ever paid in a single [...]

Fundamentalist Lightbulb

Interactive joke day:
How many fundamentalists does it take to change a lightbulb?
Please complete the joke by leaving your answers in the comments below.
My own tentative suggestion:
None. Fundamentalists profess not to believe in change. (Though secretly, some of them have been changing light-bulbs very slowly over the years.)

The Earth Moved

On February 27, England had the biggest earthquake in 24 years, measuring 5.2 on the Richter Scale. I know it is old news now, but as I slept through it (despite it waking my family and neighbours), I was keen to know what it was like, and I found the following amusing.
